The world mourns a comedic legend!
Paul Mooney has passed away at the age of 79 after suffering a heart attack at his home in Oakland, California according to his reps.
Known for his work alongside Gary Busey in “The Buddy Holly Story,” the pioneering comic was also loved for his work as Negrodamus on “The Chappelle Show” and stole the show as Junebug in Spike Lee’s “Bamboozled.”
“Comedic legend Paul Mooney has passed away,” shared journalist Roland Martin via Twitter. “His cousin Rudy Ealy just called me from Paul’s phone and said he passed away two hours ago after suffering a heart attack at his home in Oakland. He was 79.”
