DMX’s Family to Hold Prayer Vigil As The Rapper Continues to Fight For His Life

We continue to pray for DMX!

As DMX, born Earl Simmons, continues to fight for his life, his family will hold a prayer vigil outside of the hospital where he was admitted following an alleged overdose and heart attack Saturday (April 3).

“We ask that you please keep Earl/DMX and us in your thoughts, wishes, and prayers as well as respect our privacy as we face these challenges,” said the family in a statement to The Associated Press.

In the statement, the family shares that The Ruff Ryders to the Rescue Foundation will hold a vigil outside of White Plains Hospital at 5 p.m. ET today (April 5).

Murray Richman, DMX’s lawyer, has been keeping the public updated on the condition of the condition. On Saturday, he shared that the “How It’s Going Down” rapper was put on life support after having to be resuscitated.

According to his manager, Nakia Walker, DMX is currently in a “vegetative state and has lung and brain failure and no brain activity.”

She adds, “we’re just praying.”

Yesterday (April 4), DMX’s ex-wife Tashera Simmons shared footage of fans as they played music outside of the hospital.

While Richman has confirmed reports of a heart attack, he has not done so for the reported overdose.
