“Every Side Is The Dark Side For Us Here In America,” Ice Cube Doubles Down On Why He’s Teaming Up With The Trump Administration

Ice Cube was under heat yesterday (Oct 14) after it was shared that he had joined forces with Donald Trump’s campaign to push his Platinum Plan for Black Americans.

The outrage began after Katrina Pierson, an adviser on the Trump 2020 Campaign, tweeted: “Shoutout to @icecube for his willingness to step up and work with @realDonaldTrump Administration to help develop the #PlatinumPlan…Leaders gonna lead, haters gonna hate. Thank you for leading!

From there the backlash began from fans and even political commentator Bakari Sellers accusing Ice Cube of being a sell-out by tweeting that the West Coast rapper “fell for something shiny.”

“Biden has a black agenda & a racial equity agenda. He has a black female VP who will help oversee COVID recovery for a virus which from a health & economic POV devastated black communities,” tweeted Sellers. “He will appoint a black woman to the SCOTUS (Supreme Court of the United States) & @icecube fell for something shiny.”

However, the “F*** The Police” rapper hit back and doubled down on the fact that he spoke with both Biden and Trump’s teams about his proposed Contract With Black America, that he says “strikes at the heart of racism and presents a blueprint to achieve racial economic justice.”

He also adds that once he heard both sides he went on to go with Trump because he felt that it would be the best move for the black community as a whole. With Trump, the proposed Platinum Plan has a goal to create three million new jobs in the black community over the next four years along with an increase in access to capital by $500 billion.

After someone accused Ice Cube of joining the “darkside,” the “Are We There Yet” actor had something to say.

“Every side is the Darkside for us here in America. They’re all the same until something changes for us,” Ice Cube tweets. “They all lie and they all cheat but we can’t afford not to negotiate with whoever is in power or our condition in this country will never change. Our justice is bipartisan.”

What are your thoughts on Ice Cube working for Trump, do you think it’ll bring the change Black Americans need?
