Naomi Osaka has topped Serena Williams as the highest-paid female athlete in history! The 22-year-old brought in over $37 million in earnings this past year.
Osaka, who is of Haitian and Japanese descent, surpassed Serena Williams by $1.4 million. She earned $37.4 million dollars last year from endorsements and prize money. One glance at her IG profile and you can tell how much of an influence Serena Williams has on her career as an athlete.
And when she met her biggest influence, “the first time I was very star-struck, probably seeing Serena for the first time. I said how much I loved her in an interview and then the tournament just, like set up this, basically a fan meeting for me.”
