Girl Power! The Biden-Harris Administration Announces All Female-Led Communications Team

It’s all about the ladies for the new President-elect Joe Biden and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris!

 

On Sunday (November 29) they announced an all-female White House senior communications team which includes Ashley Etienne, as the Communications Director for Vice President-elect Kamala Harris.

 

“I am proud to announce today the first senior White House communications team comprised entirely of women,” said Biden in a statement. “These qualified, experienced communicators bring diverse perspectives to their work and a shared commitment to building this country back better.”

 

Now you know we here at aspireTV have to highlight the Black girl magic and give a special congratulations to Ashley Etienne, Karine Jean-Pierre, and Symone Sanders! Etienne, who previously served as communications director and senior advisor to Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, made history as the first woman and person of color to hold the position. She will now become the Communications Director for Vice President-elect Kamala Harris.

 

Jean-Pierre worked for both Marin O’Malley and Barack Obama’s presidential campaigns and served as a political analyst for MSNBC and NBC. She will assume the role of Principal Deputy Press Secretary for the Biden administration.

 

Sanders was the national press secretary for Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders at the time of his 2016 presidential campaign before joining CNN as a political commentator. She is also a former member of the Federal Advisory Committee on Juvenile Justice and the former chair of the Coalition of Juvenile Justice Emerging Leaders Committee. Sanders will step into the administration as Senior Advisor and Chief Spokesperson for Vice President-elect Kamala Harris.
