President Donald Trump Tells Proud Boys To “Stand Back and Stand By” When Asked To Denounce White Supremacy

Several news analysts are calling last night’s debate “the worst one” they’ve ever seen and this could be one of the many reasons why.

President Trump refused to condemn White supremacists for inciting violence at anti-police brutality demonstrations across the country, claiming during Tuesday’s debate that the violence wasn’t an issue caused by the right. “Who would you like me to condemn?” Trump asked Chris Wallace when the debate moderator asked the President if he was ready to condemn White supremacists. Biden could be heard twice saying, “Proud Boys.” Trump continued: “Proud Boys — stand back and stand by. But I’ll tell you what. I’ll tell you what. Somebody’s got to do something about Antifa and the left because this is not a right wing problem.” Members of the Proud Boys, a far-right collective that the Southern Poverty Law Center says is a hate group, have been seen in their black and yellow polo shirt uniform at multiple 2020 Trump campaign rallies. According to the Washington Post, the Proud Boys have been listed by the FBI as a far-right, male-exclusive group and they also believe that the group has ties to white nationalism. A claim rejected by the group.

Per CNN, the Proud Boys were recently seen toting firearms, dressed in body armor at the recent rallies in Portland, Oregon.

We are now only 33 days away from what many speculate will be the most historic election in our nation’s history and last night’s presidential debate left many Americans feeling confused, anxious, and fearful for what’s to come.
