In 2020 anything is possible, even reconciliation between our beloved Fresh Prince and his Aunt Viv.
In a first look at the upcoming “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” reunion special, we see Will Smith and Janet Hubert, the actress who played the original Aunt Viv, sit down for the first time in 27 years.
Daphne Reid replaced Janet Hubert following the third season of the show.
The relationship between Hubert and Smith has not always been peachy if you can recall, she publicly slammed him and his wife Jada Pinkett Smith back in 2016 over their stance on the #OscarsSoWhite movement.
“The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” reunion has already been deemed “a funny and heartfelt night full of music, dancing, and more surprise guests in honor of the series that ran for six season and 148 episodes.”
Last night’s reunion between the cast marked 30 years since the series first premiered in 1990.
Smith also shared a photo of him and series regulars Tatyana Ali, Daphne Reid, Karyn Parsons, Alfonso Ribeiro, and Joseph Marcell. He also paid tribute to the beloved Uncle Phil, portrayed by James Avery who died of complications from open-heart surgery back in 2014. His caption read, “RIP James.”
Fans can expect all the nostalgia and feels when the reunion premieres around Thanksgiving on HBO Max.
