Tiffany Haddish is on the road to motherhood!
The comedian/actress has always been vocal about life in foster care as a young child and now she’s in the process of adopting.
During a recent appearance on “Entertainment Tonight,” Haddish shared that adoption is extremely important to her for various reasons.
“I’m currently looking, deciding on adopting,” said Haddish. “First of all, especially after this pandemic, there are so many children left without their parents.”
She further explained why we all should be trying to do what we can right now.
“There are a lot of people that need to be loved,” she continued. “It’s Foster Care Awareness Month right now, and I think we all should be aware and try to do what we can.”
Haddish adds that she initially wanted to be a foster parent but, given the fact that she’s a household name, was advised by her lawyer to adopt instead.
“I really wanted to be a foster parent, but because I’m at a certain level of success, my lawyer suggested that it’s probably best to just adopt, and I’m in that process now,” Haddish continued.
When asked if she would be adopting a baby, Haddish shared that she’s looking to adopt an older child instead.
“I want to get somebody that’s five and up,” said the 41-year-old comedian. “You know, already knows how to use the restroom, already knows how to talk, already knows how to communicate.”
“All I want to do is pour knowledge in… (and) get them ready for the big, bad world,” Haddish explained. “That’s what I want to do.”
This isn’t the first time Haddish has mentioned her plans for motherhood.
While on “E!’s Daily Pop” last month she shared that in order to financially support herself at 21, she made the decision to sell her eggs.
“I already gave up – here goes something everybody don’t know, I’m gonna tell you – When I was 21 I was really hard up for some money and I gave up a bunch of eggs,” she said.

She also joked that she may actually have little versions of her running around in the world.
“So who knows, I might got some kids out there in these streets,” said the “Girl’s Trip” star.”I doubt it, though, because I never got a bonus. Maybe somewhere though…”
We wish Tiffany Haddish all the best on her journey to motherhood!
